BIO
hi, MY NAME IS ADA…
I'm a researcher of Quantum Mechanics, nationally published author of poetry and prose, and artist of Sculpture and Photography who has returned to my native Cincinnati, Ohio after wrapping up my MFA at Carnegie Mellon University and subsequent post-graduate travels to Seoul, South Korea. Upon my return from Korea, I was recruited by and remain a designer for VIDA, a Silicon Valley design company.
Before obtaining my MFA, I was completing my undergraduate studies in Kentucky and spending time studying abroad in Paris, France. Since returning home to Cincinnati, I've given myself some much-needed time to exhale and regain focus of my passions and skills, having just ended a self-allotted 2 year period of decompression after 10 wonderful and non-stop years of full-time higher education with simultaneous part-time employment, teaching, delivering artist talks, and academically inclined international travel.
My cumulative academic and personal research avenues are each largely based within the liminal experiences of bodies, movements, and the associated occupation and navigation of various physical as well as theoretical spaces and times. This investigative approach is evidenced in my undergraduate studies of combined double-majors of both Pre-Medicine and Kinetic Sculpture; and again further developed and continued beyond my graduate research focusing on the intersections of Sculpture, Photography, and the often overlooked Spaces between the second and third Dimensions.
When not researching or in the studio, I can be found enjoying a cup of coffee, keeping up with Major League Baseball, training both ballet and martial arts, or simply spending time with my dog.
